IndyCar Series Betting Guide
The Indy Racing League or IRL for short was only formed in 1994 and the first Indy Race didn’t take place until 1996 so it’s still fairly new. When the Indy Racing League first started it was very small and not many racing teams wanted to take a chance with the IRL due to CART being around still. The league had a lot of inexperienced drivers without much of a resume and the teams were generally small unknown teams looking to move up the racing status.
Over the years the IRL started seeing more of the large racing teams jumping onboard with them and with the large teams followed experienced and notable race car drivers. This helped get the sport more into the spotlight and has helped the sport move past many other racing leagues in popularity over the past decade.
In 2003 the IRL established the IndyCar Series which is the number one series in the IRL and where all of the notable drivers race. The league set-up rules that every racing team needs to follow and most of them are to limit what modifications can be made to the Indy Car. Initially the IndyCar Series was only comprised of oval race tracks, but that was quickly changed and now there are numerous road tracks.
The IndyCar Series travels around the world and doesn’t remain in the USA only so people from all over the world can watch the series. Many of the drivers are from countries out of North America as well and there is a huge world presence in the sport. With lots of media coverage for the sport when it’s on many fans are able to watch the races from there own home as well.
Betting on the IndyCar Series is also a lot of fun like playing on PartyPoker.com and if you’re smart you can make some money as well. You can bet on numerous outcomes on the IndyCar Series races including outright winner of the race, racer with the fastest lap, match-up bets plus much more. You can also make prop bets on the IndyCar Series where you need to choose before the series begins who you think will win the championship. This bet is difficult to win obviously, but the odds are huge for these bets and worth the shot in my opinion at trying to hit once a year.
The IndyCar Series is available on most online sportsbooks and you should be able to find odds for the races on your choice of sportsbook. Make sure that when you bet on the races you have done your homework because often the best drivers in practise and qualifying do the best during the race as well. It’s important that you take the time to review the practise and qualifying times of every racer at the top of the pack so you can make the best decision on who should win the race. You can also look at past performances to gauge how well a given racer might perform.
