Formula 1 Racing dates way back before the 1900’s, but the modern era Formula One Championship started in 1950. In the first year of Formula 1 the Alpha Romeo team came away with first place, second place and third place in the championship standings at the end of the season. For the first decade the race cars which were used weren’t made for speed as they are today.
From the sixties to eighties Formula 1 Racing began to evolve and there were quicker and better race cars being produced. Many technologies started to assist the sport in becoming a faster sport with speed being the main priority. During the eighties the Formula One race car started looking like the race car we see today, but before then the race car didn’t look much like the ones today.
Nowadays Formula 1 race cars are super fast machines with a lot of technologies used to assist in every way possible. Many fans of the Formula One enjoy watching the sport because of the speed factor and that’s exactly what you see now, as well as good driving. The racers in Formula One have always been great, but over the past decade or two many of the best race car drivers in history have emerged.
Over the years of the Formula 1 fans started growing and eventually in the seventies the sport started getting televised. Formula 1 have changed how racers win the championship over the history of the sport, but as of late 2008 there is a new method to calculate who wins the championship. Every race will reward the first place driver with a gold medal, the second place driver with a silver medal and the third place driver with a bronze medal. At the end of the racing season the racer with the most gold medals will win the championship, and if tied then the racer with the most silvers will win. The point system for the constructors championship is still the same and the top eight racers earn points for there team in the constructors championship.
